BJHA: Defibrillator

The Board of BJHA would like to sincerely thank all those donors, whether from within or outside the community, who responded to our Defibrillator Appeal in November 2021.

Thank you so much for helping us to reach our target so quickly, we are overwhelmed by your generosity.

We are pleased to report that the defibrillator has been purchased and installed in Silverstone Court.

Once again, many thanks to everyone who contributed.

BJHA Defibrillator is now registered with West Midlands Ambulance Service. This means that this equipment is on the network system that is vital for saving lives not only within Silverstone Court, but also known to the Emergency Services for the greater good of our community.

I am delighted to confirm that a Defibrillator Familiarisation training course took place on Tuesday 1st February at 2.00pm at Silverstone Court.

This provided us all the opportunity to learn how to use the defibrillator (which is now situated in the lounge at Silverstone Court) and also in basic life support and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). The course lasted for two and a half hours.

We had a number of tenants from Silverstone Court attend this training as observers beside one who participated, and I am pleased to have learnt that they found it interesting and useful. The staff members at BJHA both paid and volunteers participated in this training and are now certified, and ready to use Defibrillator; should the need arise - hopefully we will never need to use it at all. We are also pleased to have been joined by staff members from Birmingham Jewish Community Care (BJCC) at Andrew Cohen House.

For and on Behalf of BJHA,

Gill Taylor (BJHA Management Board Member)
